About Us

Reachout Africa History

REACH OUT AFRICA is a non-profit organization made up of students, lawyers, pharmacists, doctors, nurses and other professionals who are like-minded in bringing relief to dispirited communities in Africa. This, we do through our outreach programs. Activities of our outreach programs include; health promotion through health education and free health screening, mentorship program to school children, donations, and general counseling.

Reach Out Africa started in 2018 as IMPACT FOUNDATION at Kwame Nkrumah University of science and Technology by a group of young students who wanted to impact and make a change in their society.

The foundation embarked on its first outreach which was dubbed the “hit the streets campaign”. Through this campaign the organization mobilized funds to feed about Thousand (1000) beggars and mentally deranged persons on the streets. Through this project, we also started a media campaign where we created more awareness on the increasing number of mentally deranged persons on the streets of Ghana and the threats they pose to the society.

Also, in 2018, we embarked on a Senior High School Tour where we visited Senior High Schools in Ghana including St Louis Senior High School and Asanteman Senior High school and educated the students on the various career options that they have.

In 2019, the organization again embarked on its annual outreach that is ‘The Hit the streets campaign where we distributed food to street children and mentally deranged persons on the streets. We also embarked on a SAY NO TO SUICIDE CAMPAIGN and educated young people on the need to avoid suicide and counseled most of them who had suicidal thoughts. We did this through several radio and social media campaigns.

In 2021, the membership of the organization increased to a considerable size and the organization had several members in various parts of Africa including DR Congo, Nigeria, Togo and Zimbabwe who wanted to start the organization in their respective countries. Due to this, the organisation’s name was changed from IMPACT ORGANISATION TO REACH OUT AFRICA.

As REACH OUT AFRICA, the organization has embarked on several projects which has impacted a lot of people in Ghana and Africa in general.

In 2021, we embarked on an outreach to JAGLUU in the upper west region of Ghana from 15th to 18th October, 2021.

Jagluu community is a remote community in the Upper West Region with over two thousand (2000) inhabitants who lack basic necessities including; healthcare facilities, access to education, electricity and portable water. This community is an epitome of dejection as it contributes to the high numbers of teenage pregnancies, school dropouts and mortality from communicable and non-communicable diseases in the Upper West Region.

As a foundation, we provided free health screening for the entire community and educated the people on diseases such COVID 19, HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis B and C, malaria and many more.

We also donated items such as school uniforms, stationery, shoes and many others to the Junior High school students

We embarked on a senior High school tour where we visited Lassia Tuolu Senior High School and educated the students on how they can be successful people in the society and the various career options they have.

REACH OUT AFRICA also has several beneficiaries in various schools in Ghana including Tertiary institutions. Reach out Africa sponsors such people with all their educational needs and organize several mentorship programs for them.

In 2022, Reach Out Africa started its first international campaign dubbed the “RISE ABOVE “which sought to provide relief to the people of GOMA, in the Democratic republic of Congo affected by Mount nyiragongo volcanic eruption and War between the M23 group and the government military.
